Armenia Castle, also known as Amberd Fortress, is a medieval castle located in the Aragatsotn Province of Armenia. It sits on a rocky hillside overlooking the Amberd River and the surrounding mountains. The castle was built in the 7th century during the reign of the Armenian prince Kamsarakan and was later expanded and restored in the 11th century by the Armenian nobleman Vahram Pahlavuni.
The castle consists of a high defensive wall, towers, a large courtyard, and several residential buildings. It served as an important military outpost and administration center for many centuries and played a significant role in Armenian history.
